Abstract

The research theme submitted for our assessment concerns heads of administrative districts and the promotion of peace and stability in the three-border area of Cameroon-Gabon- Equatorial Guinea 1987-2021. Thus, throughout our analysis, it will be a question of highlighting the contribution or role of heads of administrative districts in the promotion of peace and stability in the three-border area of the aforementioned countries. This is why, and in order to carry out our reflection, we carried out a qualitative research, with a documentary survey and a field survey in which we used the technique of observation and interviews, without forgetting certain hypotheses. In addition, our theoretical framework included the theories of integration or free trade, intergovernmentalism and transnationalism. All this allows us to arrive at the conclusion that the heads of administrative districts here appear as significant actors in the process of efficient and sustainable promotion of peace and stability in the three-border area concerned. However, a thorough reflection on this reality tends to corroborate that the said process faces multiple constraints. Hence the need to articulate some avenues of reflection to hope for a dynamic integration, which includes the free movement of people and goods, the eradication of all illicit activities for the promotion of peace and stability in a sustainable manner and to the great benefit of the states of the sub region.
