Our research work was carried out on diabetes, which is a chronic disease with a high mortality rate in the world in general and in Cameroon in particular. The high mortality rate, poor therapeutic adherence, the increased prevalence of diabetic complications, the non-acceptance and the lack of applicability of coping strategies allowing the behavioral adjustment of patients for good disease management. A disease generally affecting working people is a threat to the development of Cameroon in particular and the world in general. The objectives of our research are multiple, but the main one is to measure the significant influence of the practice of coping strategies and behavioral adjustments in the medical monitoring and psychosocial support of people with diabetes in the health district of Cité-Verte in Yaoundé. Our main question is; How can the daily practice of coping strategies by diabetics have an influence on their behavioral adjustments for good disease management? And our general hypothesis is: Does the daily practice of coping strategies by diabetics have a significant influence on their behavioral adjustments for good disease management. The methodology used in our research is both inductive and hypothetico-deductive due to its mixed exploratory nature. This methodology allows the strategic combination of qualitative data because it concerns the characteristics of individuals and quantitative because our observation is made on a well-defined sample for the purpose of analyzing the results. The data collection method was made from questionnaires addressed to diabetics, consultation of medical follow-up records of patients and direct interviews. Our research was carried out through community visits and internships in diabetic clinics. Compared to the results of our research, all hypotheses were confirmed. Hypothesis 1 with an x2cal = 92.6, an x2lu = 3.841 and the CC = 0.472 which confirms hypothesis 1. Hypothesis 2 with an x2cal = 137.67, x2lu = 3.841 and the CC = 0.554 which implies H2 confirmed. Hypothesis 3 with an x2cal = 112.32, x2lu = 3.841 and the CC = 0.522 which implies H3 confirmed. Hypothesis 4 with an x2cal = 103.901, x2lu = 3.841 and the CC = 0.447 which implies H4 confirmed. We noticed that coping strategies have a significant influence in the behavioral adjustment process of diabetics. Diabetics who implemented all the necessary coping strategies to achieve their glycemic balance were not disappointed because they not only achieved it but maintained it, which is difficult for diabetics. This work will allow health policies to consider providing diabetic clinics with trained personnel to practice health education for patients. With the inclusion of coping strategies in the medical treatment of chronic patients in healthcare facilities, the mortality rate of certain chronic diseases will decrease. There is also the integration of new information and communication technologies, which has a positive impact on the adjustments of the behavior of diabetics due to the exchange of experiences in different forums.en_US
