Résumé: This reflection on "Chadian soccer: political, economic and socio-cultural issues and challenges" highlights the importance of sport in general, and soccer in particular, in the major decisions taken by countries, its codification, its expansion and its considerable impact at many levels around the world. It also shows how the sport has entered Africa and Chad, how it is managed, the atmosphere in which it evolves, and the issues and challenges it faces. The problem that guided this work are : how has soccer as a sporting practice and socio-cultural phenomenon been influenced by political, economic and socio-cultural dynamics in Chad between 1962 and 2021, and how have these interactions shaped the country’s national identity, social relations and economic development? Several theories were mobilized in this study, including soft power theory, complex systems theory and the economic theory of sport. The collection or mobilization of primary and secondary sources led to a descent into Chad and Cameroon. The methods used in this study to collect, analyze and interpret all the data are qualitative, synchronic and diachronic and multidisciplinary. At the end of this undertaking, we were able to draw some number of conclusions: among other things, soccer has undergone mutation, has a grandiose impact, presents many opportunities and influences the major political, economic and socio-cultural decisions of countries. In Chad, it suffers from many ills, such as amateurism, lack of professionalism, the absence of a clear, rigorous political program, interminable squabbles and the absence of modern sports infrastructures, affecting the performance of athletes. What’s more, there is little media coverage, hence the notable absence of sponsors and partners to boost Chadian soccer. We can see that soccer presents many opportunities these days, with important issues at stake that influence the international politics of countries. In Chad, the talent is there, the imperative is to build infrastructures, coherent, and feasible projects, and to confront the corruption that plagues this discipline. Invest and create favorable, peaceful conditions and raise the profile of soccer to attract sponsors and partners, and show abnegation and patriotism in the management of funds. There’s no shortage of political interference in other countries too, but if they’ve managed to rise to the top, Chad can do it too.
