dc.description.abstractThe present study focuses on the "Human resource management practices and pedagogical effectiveness of public primary school teachers in the Yaoundé 6 district." It arises from the observation that primary schools in sub-Saharan Africa exhibit low performance (33%) and encounter numerous dysfunctions. Moreover, the report emphasizes that "the significant regional disparities in academic results and the poor functioning of the educational system in Cameroon are partly due to two problems: ineffective management of the system and a lack of transparency in resource allocation" (UNESCO, 2016). Thus, our research question is how the human resource management practices of directors improve the pedagogical effectiveness of public primary school teachers in the Yaoundé 6 district? The objective of this study is to identify human resource management practices likely to contribute to the educational effectiveness of public primary school teachers and to propose effective and sustainable management strategies that principals can adopt. To achieve this, the study employed a quantitative approach using a closed-ended questionnaire as a data collection instrument. These instruments allowed for data collection from 120 teachers in the primary sector of the Mendong school complex, located in the arrondissement of Yaoundé 6. For data analysis, SPSS version 21 software was used to perform descriptive analysis and inferential analysis to test the hypotheses. It appears that all hypotheses were confirmed according to Pearson's correlation. The results indicate that transformational leadership, teacher involvement in decision-making, and the regular use of monitoring and evaluation tools by school leaders are determinants likely to enhance the pedagogical effectiveness of primary school teachers. It can be concluded in this regard by affirming, in light of the aforementioned results, that a practice of human resource management by directors aligned with their new roles as school leaders enhances the pedagogical effectiveness of public primary school teachers.fr_FR
