Résumé: This research focuses on the theme «For a sociohistorical approach to nationalist memory in Les Maquisards de Hemley Boum and Frakas by Thomas Cantaloube » Its objective is to return, through the novels Les Maquisards de Hemley Boum and Frakas by Thomas Cantaloube, to what is said, what is not said and what is badly said during the periods that marked Cameroonian nationalist struggles before and after independence. Thus, this research aims to question the aesthetic, narrative and also ideological modalities through which the colonial fact is said, written, transmitted and experienced. In other words, it is a question of seeing how nationalist memory is articulated, particularly in its aesthetic configuration and its narrative functioning in the novels Les maquisards and Frakas, before attempting to identify the issues underlying such a scriptural enterprise. The methodological approach applied to this research is sociocritical. This approach allows us to explore not only the social and historical contexts that influence the construction of narratives, but also the cultural and identity implications that result from them. This research highlights the multiple issues of nationalist memory in the Cameroonian context. On the identity level, the textualization of nationalist memory appears as an act of construction of a strong identity, allowing the young generation to reconnect with its history and claim its place in today's modern world. In terms of the relationship between the past and the present, this study allows us to redefine the link that current society maintains with its History. On the aesthetic level, the fictionalization of nationalist memories is part of a writing of the scattered that renews traditional narrative codes.
