Résumé: Our world is undergoing a crisis of meaning in life: traditional beliefs are often called into question. Reflection on the meaning of life and the place of God in human existence has raised many questions since ancient times. Choosing our theme, "The Question of God and the Meaning of Existence: A Critical Reading of L'Homme-Dieu or the Meaning of Life by Luc Ferry," is an attempt to address this crisis of meaning. In his philosophical approach, Luc Ferry proposes a humanistic perspective that emphasizes human capacity to create one's own meaning in life. This theme will help us explore various philosophies that address the question of life's meaning, including those that reject the idea of God as the source of all meaning. Ferry's critique of religious dogmas prompts reflection on how these beliefs influence our understanding of existence. This reflection offers us, as researchers, a multitude of avenues for investigation. These avenues will assist us in better understanding the contemporary challenges related to the question of meaning and spirituality. A critical reading of Luc Ferry's work sheds light on these issues while encouraging us to engage in a sober inquiry. From the above, we can observe that the subjectivity of meaning, the critique of dogmas, the absence of God as liberation, the centrality of man, secular ethics, and the crisis of meaning must be reconsidered. This is why the problem we wish to solve is that of the nature of the relationship between human life's meaning and God. Through a historical-critical analysis, we aim to reach the following conclusion: for Luc Ferry, man is the central architect of his existence. By discerning the permissible and the forbidden, he knows, through his conscience, what he must do and what he must not do. From this standpoint, the verticality of transcendence must give way to horizontal humanism.
