This thesis is entitled « La stylisation du marronnage dans La mulâtresse Solitude d’André Schwarz-Bart et Nègre Marron de Raphaël Confiant. » It aims at analyzing the fighting spirit of slaves in the Americas. This work is centered on the condition of African- americans during and after slavery. In this regard, ʻmarronnageʼ is presented as a mean used by slaves to fight against slavery. It is also a way to claim their identity in the narratives studied. The research question of this work is: how is the fight for freedom portrayed in La mulâtresse Solitude and Nègre marron? Our hypothesis in that the fight of African-american for freedom should be valorize because it shows the bravery and the determination of those fighters. Two theoretical frameworks are used namely the new historicism by Stephen Greenblatt and semiotics by Charles Sanders Peirce. The thesis is divided into three different parts whereby the first one focuses on the stylistic devices in the novels analyzed. The second part is centered on the link between space, time and the fight for freedom. Last but not least, the third part is based on the double meaning of African’s fight in both narratives. Therefore, this work shows that the African fighter in the Americas is a hero because he uses all means to free himself from slaveryfr_FR
