Résumé: Our work is entitled Esthétique du dévoilement de l’héroïsme féminin dans Confidences de Max Lobè et The reign of Wazobia de Tess Osonye Onwueme. It aims at analyzing the representation of the strong and dynamic woman described in the works studied. In contrast to the oppressed woman, the female character studied in the examined works is an illustration of bravery, heroism, and dynamism. Our research question is therefore based on the characteristics of the heroic female character in Confidences and The Reign of Wazobia. Our hypothesis is that Max Lobè and Tess Osonye Onwueme redefine the role of African women in society to describe them not as oppressed human beings but as individuals at the center of sociopolitical changes. Through a sociocritical, semiotic, and geocritical analysis of the chosen texts, we will make a comparative study to show that heroic female characters are portrayed in the aesthetic of the texts, the spatiotemporal configuration, and the characterization of the characters. Thus, the woman appears as a victorious fighter in the history of Africa and an active person who works for the development of the continent.
