Résumé: The understanding of relief features helps the learner of form fiveTour in producing tourist guides that sell tourist assets to clients, the full explanation of these products during guided tours thus helps to satisfy the public. To be able to explain the formation of reliefs, the learner must understand the mechanisms that govern it, however the non-use of didactic tools appropriate to teaching and learning makes his understanding difficult, hence the interest of this study. From this problem arises the following question: how does digital simulation help learners of form five to develop skills around the concept of tectonic movements? In other words, the digital simulation of a model of convection currents, via the projection of videos on the movements of subduction and collision, and through animated images allow learners of 2nd Tour to develop skills. We used a mixed methodological approach. The first approach is experimental, which allowed us to verify the hypotheses put forward. Given that our sample was small, we used a content analysis that is part of the qualitative method. The results of this analysis confirm the first hypothesis and the third hypothesis is invalidated. This study thus shows the added value of digital simulations in the teaching/learning of tectonic movements and thus allows learners to build skills (visualize, communicate, understand, interpret). However, there are also limits, hence the need to introduce them at the right time in the course of the lesson using the right teaching strategy. In a nut shell, digital simulations are contemporary didactic tools that allow learners to develop skills around geographical concepts. Therefore, more research is needed in this area. Such a study can also be done with a larger sample of learners.
