Résumé: This subject of history entitled: Forest management in the communal area of Djoum in East Cameroon: historical analysis test (1994-2015). Highlights the challenges of forest management in the communal area of Djoum in Eastern Cameroon. The methodology used allowed us to question oral, written, and iconographic sources. The fact is that the forest plays a crucial role in terms of physical and physiological, and previously biological purification of air and water. Human health ultimately depends on society's ability to manage the interaction between human activities and the physical environment. The plant absorbs C02 for the course of the photosynthesis reaction (which it needs for its survival), by releasing oxygen. The gas destroying oxygen is at this level absorbed by the plant, it slows down, diminishes the effects of this harmful gas from the atmosphere. Remember that in places where there are no plants, the C02 will quickly pass or be released into the atmosphere to initiate the greenhouse effect phenomenon. The living being needs oxygen for its survival, without this substance man cannot live, he therefore helps him for his survival. Man, also releases a little C02 in the absence of forests, humanity would suffer because it fights effectively against the perverse effects of global warming. The forest of the communal zone of Djoum makes it possible to better manage the altitudinal staging. The forest management of large concessions and that of small-scale community forests, some municipalities in Cameroon like Djoum have recently embarked on the sustainable management of forests that are returned to them by the State. These communal forests represent an intermediate forest management between these two types of concessions. A development plan is drawn up and participatory management must be carried out to consider the uses and interests of local populations. Our research seeks to define whether this new development model, contributing to increasing the investment capacity of the municipality and the transfer of power from a central level to a local level, can constitute a framework for sustainable and participatory management. of the forest in Djoum in South Cameroon. The results obtained allowed us to evaluate the implementation of governance, participation, and accountability of village populations in the management of forest resources in the municipality of Djoum.
