Title: Management de l’offre de formation en contexte d’innovation technique et prise en compte des filières industrielles : cas de l’Université de Yaoundé I
Authors: Mete Nolabia, Anne Lucie
Abstract: The education and training provided by Cameroon's universities produces thousands of graduates every year, but unemployment and income inequalities persist. The present study examines the management of training courses at the University of Yaoundé1 in the context of technical development and the integration of industrial fields, with particular reference to the inadequate transition from technical secondary education to public higher education. Therefore, believing that the University of Yaoundé 1 can promote economic development in the current context by effectively integrating technical secondary school graduates, this study has set 4 main objectives, as follows: to show that the establishment of technical schools with conventional integration favours the integration of industrial fields; to show that the promotion and training of teachers in higher technical education have an impact on the integration of industrial fields; to show that there is a relationship between the adaptation of curricula to the continuity of training, and the integration of industrial fields; to show that the effectiveness of alternating training has an impact on the integration of industrial fields. Four hypotheses were put forward by means of a Reuchlin factor analysis, i.e. The implementation of technical schools with conventional integration has an impact on the integration of industrial fields; the promotion and training of teachers in higher technical education have an impact on the integration of industrial fields; there is a significant relationship between the adaptation of curricula to the continuity of training, and the integration of industrial fields; the effectiveness of alternating training has an impact on the integration of industrial fields; to determine if there is a link between the management of training provision at the University of Yaoundé 1, and the integration of industrial fields. This resulted in 18 questions, answered through a questionnaire sent to a sample of 139 respondents; all of them were students of the Faculty of Science at the University of Yaoundé 1 with a technical baccalaureate degree. The data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics, with a favourable rate of 60%, and the inferential methods, in this case chi-square, with all hypotheses accepted. We can confirm that there is a significant relationship between the management of secondary education and the integration of industrial fields, since all the null hypotheses have been rejected.

Title: La gtz/giz et la problématique de l’aménagement forestier au Cameroun (1992-2022)
Authors: Simeu Ngompe, Stève Christian
Abstract: Cameroon in its quest for development has opted for the diversification of partners, among which Germany figures prominently. The Federal Republic of Germany is a Cameroon’s historic partner which brings its technical assistance to Cameroon through GTZ, which becomes GIZ in 2011. This technical cooperation is based on three priority domains: rural development, good governance and environmental protection, and forests. We have chosen to analyze the relevance and effectiveness of this cooperation in the field of forest protection, hence our subject: “GTZ/GIZ and the issue of forest management in Cameroon (1992-2022)”. We carried out this study from an approach that is both qualitative and quantitative, based on the analytic method, whose analytical grids are based on the theories of sustainable development, environmental governance, and socio-ecological systems. This study was made possible by documentary research in various places, but also by the help of informants. At the end of this research, it appears that the efforts deployed in Cameroon by GTZ/GIZ since 1992 have made it possible to involve rural populations in forest management, strengthen the capacities of the government and forest stakeholders, improve the legal and regulatory framework for national forestry, reduce anthropic pressure in the forests and lay the foundations for ecotourism in Cameroon; in short, to contribute to forest management in Cameroon. In short, GTZ/GIZ to contribute to sustainable management and forest governance in Cameroon. However, some limitations were noted in the action of GTZ / GIZ in Cameroon. These include, among other things, poor communication, poor involvement of the populations and the failure to take into account the various social components. However, with more aggressive communication and increased involved of local populations in the different phases of projects and programs, their results will improve. The Cameroonian government should capitalize on the achievements of these projects and draw inspiration from these intervention models to apply in other region of the country.

Managerial style of school leaders and teachers’ effectiveness in secondary schools in Mfoundi Division

Title: Managerial style of school leaders and teachers’ effectiveness in secondary schools in Mfoundi Division
Authors: Kekia, Emmanuel

Abstract: Entitled //Tswi// or //Shu//: Ovarian Cysts and Therapies among the Bangangté of Western Cameroon; A Contribution to Medical Anthropology. This study falls within the field of medical anthropology and explores the cultural logics that shape the perception and management of this pathology in a society where traditional beliefs remain deeply rooted. The interest in this topic arose from a striking observation: in Bangangté, ovarian cysts are rarely seen as mere biological anomalies. While biomedicine attributes them to hormonal or genetic causes, local knowledge often interprets them as the result of invisible forces, curses, or disruptions in social or spiritual order. This discrepancy raises a crucial issue: how do affected women make sense of their illness, and what determines their therapeutic choices? To address this, we adopted a qualitative approach grounded in ethnographic fieldwork, using semi- structured interviews, participant observation, and discourse analysis. The theoretical framework draws on medical anthropology, notably concepts such as therapeutic pluralism, the "lived experience" of illness, and social representations of the body. Our findings show that ovarian cysts are perceived far beyond their biomedical definition: they are often seen as a threat to femininity and fertility, causing both physical pain and social stigma. Women navigate between multiple care systems modern medicine, traditional healing, and religious practices following complex logics that are at once economic, symbolic, and relational. These therapeutic itineraries reflect a lived experience of illness at the intersection of the visible and the invisible, the social and the biological. Through this study, we highlight the importance of an intercultural approach to health, one that takes local representations into account to improve care and communication with patients. Looking ahead, it would be valuable to expand this research to other cultural contexts in Cameroon to further explore social dynamics surrounding the body, fertility, and women’s health.
